CalGreen Inspector Services for Your Building Permit
The CalGreen process starts with the CalGreen Checklist and knowing how to fill it out. On some projects CalGreen Energy Services fills out the checklist for the owner. On some projects the checklist is filled out by the project architect or the builder. In this case CalGreen Energy Services can provide just the CalGreen Special Inspector services.
This service has two parts.
Our certified CalGreen Special Inspector will review your permit drawings and we will verify that all of the items “checked” on the checklist are shown on the plans or in the specifications. Once all of the compliance requirements are shown on the permit documents, we will then sign the Design Verification Form that is located at the end of the CalGreen Checklist. Your project is now ready for submittal to the local building department.
Completing Your CalGreen Project
The second responsibility of the CalGreen Special Inspector comes at the completion of your project. The code requires a final sign-off by the special inspector at the end of the project. We will visit the site and field-verify that all of the checklist items are complete. After the site visit we will sign the Implementation Verification Form. Once signed, the owner can begin occupying the building.
Getting Us Started on Your Permit Submittal
After we have received your signed proposal simply forward us a copy of your architectural plans that you will be submitting for your building permit application. That is all we need to get started and begin your permit process.
We will review the plans to ensure all CalGreen requirements are specifically noted. If there are any items missing we will work with your architect to have them added. Usually this involves just a note or two added to their plans.
Once the architect has added the recommended notes, we will then sign the Design Verification page and your are ready to submit your plans to the building department. We make the process simple and easy.
We respond quickly to your emails and voicemails. We will put together a proposal for you right away and can typically start on your project within a couple of days.
